A process known as the blowline procedure is used worldwide for the production of wood fibreboard.
The principle is simple. The individual fibres or shavings are transported along a large conveyor line and sprayed and moistened with release agent, water or glue. The treated base material is then pressed into boards.
For a long time, pressure nozzle systems were used which, due to their design, were unable to either deliver a homogeneous drop distribution over the entire spray range or generate the necessary fine drop sizes. The consequences then became evident in the increased use of glue and frequent quality issues caused by uneven spray application.
SCHLICK has significantly optimised the blowline process – which can be easily integrated into an existing production line – by using multiple-substance nozzles. This has made it possible for the first time to produce an absolutely homogeneous spray with very fine droplet sizes. It was thus possible to sustainably reduce glue usage and prevent quality-reducing glue stains on the product. This not only increased profitability and quality, but also aided in resource conservation (reduced glue usage and reduced energy requirements). This can be attributed to the fact that it was possible to achieve the ideal balance of the key parameters in the spraying process.

Professional spraying is gaining much more in importance as a technique, especially in the production of MDF board, as it is a very helpful way of reducing costs while maximising quality at the same time. With its newly developed SCHLICK Blowline, Düsen-Schlick is setting new benchmarks for the widely used technique of blowline gluing.
Read moreProfessional spraying in industrial wood machining, especially the production of boards, is gaining increasingly in importance. This is not just because of the increasing cost of energy and raw materials; it is also because increasingly high demands for quality in the manufacture of wooden boards encourage the demand for suitable processes and possibilities, in order to apply liquids as homogeneously as possible onto prepared base materials.
